NEW TOOLS: RING TOOL & STRAIGHT HOOKED GOUGE LARGE
For a long period of time, we have developed two new tools that we are very happy to be able to make for you.
The Ring tool, a new friend to our existing Carving hooks, is a very useful and versatile tool that comes into its own when cutting out bowls and when working with burls, for example food bowls, but also ladles and spoons. Especially when working with the material in the transition between the side and the bottom of the inside.
The Straight hooked gouge large is a useful and fun complement to our smaller versions of the Straight hooked gouge: “short” and “long”. This “large” version is of course a more powerful tool with its longer handle and more stable forging. The development of the tool, as well as the inspiration to produce it, has been done in collaboration with Alex Yerks. The tool is particularly suitable for working with a smaller cup / kuksa / kåsa / guksi / guksie.
LIMITED EDITION: FORGING HAMMER & SLEDGE AND WEDGE
Svante Djärv has decided to start forging hammers and sledges. We have made a forging hammer in two different models, and sledge hammer to use with a wedge.
NEXT LEVEL: SPOON KNIFE HOLLOW
Our latest edition of spoon knife. The concave forged shape of the inside facilitates honing and polishing of the edge, along with a sharper edge. This means less resistance when working and a difference in chip removal.
We make it with three different shapes of the blade: Open, Rounded and Compound. Also as a right and left model, with both short and long handle. In total, 12 different options.
LIMITED EDITION: KITCHEN KNIFE
Svante Djärv has forged some unique kitchen knives. Light and versatile, sharp and durable. The best companion in the kitchen.
TWO POPULAR ONES:
Chip carving knife large and our Carving hooks, with the inside forged hollow. Both tools are quite recently developed by us, and fun to use as well.
Greetings from the workshop
S. Djärv Hantverk AB is a family business that forges and makes tools in small amounts, by hand. All our tools are developed together with experienced wood crafters and professional craftsmen. We make over 140 different tool models and in total around 3000 tools per year.
Our tools are delivered ready to use, sharpened and honed with wood handles. They are forged with high quality tool steel and we treat it several times to achieve the highest possible quality. We make all handles out of Swedish hardwood.
The interest for our hand forged tools have increased a lot the last years and we are very happy about that. As usual the amount of heat and sweat in our workshop is high. But the high demand results in low amounts of tools in stock and long delivery times. We make tools upon order.
With that in mind we would like to remind our customers that everything in our manufacturing process takes a lot of time in order for the quality to remain high. We make all our tools with our own hands, from wood boards and steel bars, to handles and sharp edges. In the end, every finished tool has been treated many times before being delivered to you as a craftsman or wood crafter.
During the last 30 years we have developed a broad and functional line of tools, with focus on tradition. Our tools have reached many happy craftsmen and -women all over the world. We are thankful to continue spreading woodwork happiness in the future as well!

While Elsa and l was up north enjoying the snow we got some really worrying news from our dear neighbours and family 😬😬😬
We managed to hold out a couple of more days but some more weather was incoming so we decided to leave a couple of days earlier than planned.
A lot of work came on the table...both with the huge log and a lot of snow...
Now we are very tired 🙏🙏❤️❤️❤️
All went well..no houses were damaged 🙏🙏🙏🙏
A good start of the new year 💥💥💥
We wish you a great year to come ❤️❤️❤️❤️
