Description
A drawknife is a good tool when you want to carve away a lot of material, along with the fibres. It works extra well for raw wood and in combination with a shaving horse – or similar device where you can fasten your material. The handles are made out of elm, with good grip.
Drawknife 27 cm
- Length of the edge: 270 mm
- Width of the blade: 31 mm
- Thickness of the blade: approx. 5 mm
- The blade is slightly curved
- This is a powerful and tough drawknife with both resilience and strength, that works perfectly for removing both large and small shavings. A long and sharp edge is the hallmark of a good drawknife. The blade is sharpened with a chisel bevel, and an angle at around 32 degrees, for making nice shavings. This gives a very effective way of removing material at a high pace. It is your perfect friend for shaping the outer areas of trays, troughs and bowls, but also smaller wood work with high control of what you are doing. A true all round drawknife in your workshop.
Drawknife 20 cm, handles in 45 degrees angle
- Length of the blade: 200 mm
- Width of the blade: 20 mm
- Thickness of the blade: approx. 3 mm
- This is more of a drawknife for fine shavings, with a bevel angle of 27 degrees. Thanks to this more narrow bevel angle it will break shavings slightly “worse” than our Drawknife 27 cm, and is therefore not suitable for removing a lot of material. Although, it is very neat to work with when fine tuning your project and you don’t need to remove so much material.
Drawknife 20 cm, straight
- Length of the blade: 200 mm
- Width of the blade: 20 mm
- Thickness of the blade: approx. 3 mm
- The Drawknife 20 cm has a longer blade than our standard Drawknife 14 cm. The bevel angle is around 32 degrees for making perfect shavings.
Drawknife 14 cm
- Length of the blade: 140 mm, straight
- Width of the blade: 20 mm
- Thickness of the blade: approx. 3 mm
- This is a neat little drawknife for small hands or small projects. Thanks to its very agile characteristics, it is very handy to use when making fast turns in your working directions. For making larger shavings and removing more material, we highly recommend Drawknife 27 cm or even our Timber drawknife 32 cm. The bevel angle is around 32 degrees for making perfect shavings.
